Redeem The Shadows has a heart for educating individuals on the truth behind human trafficking. We encourage anyone living in the Tampa, Florida area to attend this 4 hour training event on March 12,2011. Details are listed below. We hope you are able to attend and take a stand against slavery! WHEN: Saturday, March 12 · 10:00am - 3:00pm/ WHERE: Tampa Underground HUB-1300 E. 7th Avenue in Tampa This is the Speaker’s Bureau training through the Center for Human Trafficking Awareness at St. Petersburg College. It gives you the information neccessary to give anti-human trafficking presentations in the community. We have been able to get 2 of their speakers to come, the training manuals, and completion certificates all for free. This is a terrific chance for our community to dive deeper into the anti-human trafficking mov…ement and get some great training. We just need 25 people to pre-register and come to the training to meet the Center’s minimum group requirements.According to the CHTA website this is some of what you can expect. “This 4-hour course is designed for community members to acquaint them with the concepts of Human Trafficking. The primary focus of the course is to provide an understanding of the origins, methods of operation, and indicators of trafficking along with an understanding of the unique victimization process. An emphasis will be placed on the importance of building alliances and coalitions as part of a coordinated community response to human trafficking using Case Studies as examples”.
Eventually, there will be a link on the CHTA website to pre-register (it is not up yet), but you can also respond to Stacey Wesche with your interest and she can register for you. It is important that we have 25 people registered no later than February 25th in order to give them enough time to send our manuals and print our completion certificates, so don’t wait until the last minute.
