Isaiah 61
Isaiah 61:
Announce Freedom to All Captives
1-7 The Spirit of God, the Master, is on me because God anointed me. He sent me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, Announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners. God sent me to announce the year of his grace— a celebration of God’s destruction of our enemies— and to comfort all who mourn, To care for the...

It's the Little Things in Life
I’ve been thinking a lot recently about what it means to appreciate the little things in life. You know what they say, “it’s the little things in life that really matter.” But sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in life. As Americans, we are always busy working, playing, or perhaps even sleeping the days away. It’s easy to forget just how blessed we are...

This year on 11-11-11 Redeem The Shadows is creating something huge. We want communities, businesses, organizations, universities, and your everyday local to come together and make some noise about human trafficking. Now sure, it is great to have individuals representing a certain...

Little Ones to Him Belong, We are Weak but He is...
I was raised singing the song Jesus Loves Me and eventually learned sign language to the song. My peers and I would travel to nursing homes, children’s church, and youth group to perform this song for an audience. Everyone would clap after we finished and think it was cute to hear little voices singing. It was one of the most common and well liked songs among the children. Now that...

Building Patience Like a Boulder
When you pray for patience and for God to grow you, He generally chooses the one thing you desire most to grow you. For me, it was a chance to dust off my Floridian snowboards and take some time to hit the Colorado slopes, a real difference from the North Carolinian ice patches I am used to.
For days I day dreamed about fresh piles of white powder and the sound that my snowboard would make on...

In the last 2 weeks we have traveled through Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Last Friday was our longest drive all the way to Colorado Springs.
While we were in Texas we visited the Alamo and Noels Aunt who provided us a lovely place to sleep. In Texas we connected with a Organization “Trade in Hope” We also got an interview with a lady that was sold by her parents as a prostitute when she...

Men and Women on Tour
From Miami to currently Austin, I have been pondering one of life’s greatest mysteries. What does a woman do in the bathroom for so long? I began to ponder this mystery, philosophizing the secret ways of a woman and their possible whereabouts. Here is my top theory on this mystery, which I believe to be the most probable option.
Woman, I believe are not actually in the bathroom. Hair dryers...
Super Bowl Sunday = Spike in Trafficking
Good Morning from Sunny Florida! It’s hard to believe another Super Bowl is upon us! Most of the time all people think about when the hear “Super Bowl” is fun parties, tailgating, cheering on their favorite team, going to Disney World, and football champs. Human Trafficking is rarely an idea that pops into heads when the Super Bowl is mentioned. BUT…Did You Know that...

What will you do with your vapor?
From Mercer College to Samford University, the RTS tour continues! This is my first birthday on the road, I’ve been practicing for this moment by spending the last four 4th of July’s on the road. In an effort to combine a psuedo 4th of July and celebrate my birthday, I’ve come to the conclusion that this birthday will not be complete until dozens of bottle rockets have been fired...
"On the road again"
“On the road again” This is our fun new phrase we will be repeating for the next three months. :) We have ventured the last couple days from Atlanta to Birmingham. In Atlanta we connected with 12 Stone Church and Sugar Hill church. We went out to dinner with Miles who is the College Pastor of 12 Stone Church to connect with his church. Our plan is to come back to 12 Stone Church on...
The Lord Moves
The Lord allowed us to move North today! Just a couple more days and we will be out of Florida. :) We traveled to Gainesville to speak at the University of Florida today. We set up our materials in a beautiful park on campus today called plaza of the Americas. Our hearts were so expectant to see how God was going to move throughout the day. We were able to connect with a (student) journalist...
Faith
Well despite plums of smoke pouring out of our van from a blown engine, God has provided another vehicle for us!There is one theme that remains consistent and that is that God desires us to trust Him in the midst of the storms. It’s easy to become so focused on the problem that we loose sight of God. With our sights set on Christ, nothing else can really keep us down! It’s time to hit...
Brrrrr!!!
We wake up today in Lakeland, Florida to 30 degree weather, and realize we are slightly unprepared for the frigid conditions we will be facing all too soon as we head further north on our adventure. But we are excited, maybe we will see snow! Which makes the freezing cold weather almost worth it!
Last night we had the privilege to speak to the youth group at Mulberry Assemblies of God Church, and...
Relentless
Today when I woke up I noticed that a bunch of people had Redeem the Shadows as their profile picture on facebook to show their support! Thank you to everyone who stands united with us.
Also we just premiered our first demonstration featuring a visual demonstration of people being sold as slaves. The demonstration brought a lot of awareness and inspired others to take action. We hope that we can...
Holy Gaucamole!
There is nothing that builds up your calve muscles like pushing a full size van out of gas uphill. Lesson learned, automobiles require gas to run.
As we carried on in Christ, we’ve braved the concrete jungles of Miami, blazed through Fort Lauderdale, and ignited West Palm Beach.
At the begining of the week we started our tour in Homestead at the Oasis church. This church was filled with a...
Vigorous Vision
The word vigorous is defined in the dictionary as:
1. strong, active, robust
2. energetic, forceful
3. powerful in action or effect
This is what Redeem The Shadows longs to be know as; an organization that is vigorously helping put an end to modern day slavery. An organization that longs to make a difference in the world of human trafficking victims. It is easy to put this vision on the...

The End is Near...But the Beginning is Ahead!
With all the incredible adventure of tour there is one thing I will surely not miss. That is cramming 8 suitcases, 2 guitars, and of course all the girl’s spare shopping bags (jk) into a european sized car. If you could imagine trying to put an elephant into a refrigerator, its pretty much the same comparison. Every time we show up to a new place, it feels as if the USA circus team has arrived....

RTS GLOBAL
So we’ve hit the campaign trail starting off in Isle of Skye and Isle of Lewis. First things first, never challenge an Australian to a chili eating contest, they will continue to compete until they burn their insides out. After one painful session of that, the lesson is learned. I am amazed by how little the issue of human trafficking is being promoted in the areas we’ve visited....

The Redemption Tour -It's Time for Take-Off!
Greetings from Hot and Sunny Florida!
Tour Time
Anchor of Hope has launched off into their second European tour! On June 23 Noel, Matt, Kristen, and Anna flew to their first destination of Isle of Skye. Totally cool. From what I’ve heard back here in the states, it’s going pretty amazing. God is totally at work and the team is being used to raise awareness for Redeem the Shadows!...

Wide Awake
On Thursday, April 22, at 7 PM Redeem the Shadows took part in a human trafficking event held at First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, Florida. The place was packed! We even had to bring out more chairs to accommodate everyone! We were told 250 people were in attendance! There were booths set up in the back from other local organizations fighting against this great injustice. Redeem the...
